Sakya abode is built in two different wings – Heritage & Premium. Heritage wing, consists of 12 deluxe rooms, is the traditional old part of the property made of mud in local Spitian architecture with traditional standard size rooms. Premium wing has 7 spacious rooms with personal balcony, study table and sitting area. It is a blend of both traditional and modern architecture using best from both times to suite traveller’s comforts with traditional interior decor.
All the rooms open out to either an airy common veranda or balcony, that overlooks a lovely, grassy lawn-cum-courtyard. You can sit here and read, meditate, do yoga, play your guitar or simply enjoy the crisp Spitian sun. For years, this has been a popular place to meet other travellers and make new friends.
What sets Sakya Abode apart is its year-round operation, it is the first and only property to be operational in winters with running water and central heating system, which is a rarity in Spiti Valley.
