Sakya House Homestay is a Tibetan-style homestay situated in old Kaza. It offers guests a unique experience of staying in a traditional mud house and enjoying the hospitality of a local Spitian family.
The homestay offers 4 double bedded suit rooms with their common rooms for tea and snacks. The common rooms have books, board games, and functional wood stoves in winters to keep guests warm and cozy. All rooms are spic and span, flooded with local Tibetan rugs and murals that give them a warm and authentic feel. The homestay is maintained as a family home, and all guests are treated as family guests with open-hearted Spitian hospitality. Homestay has dedicated mediation and yoga room for guest to indulge and explore their spiritual quest.
Sakya house has been instrumental in promoting winter tourism in our valley being first few home stays in Kaza to cater guest in winter, it opened new opportunities for tourism in winters like snow drive expeditions, ice climbing courses and winter sports.
The meals at Sakya House Homestay are freshly prepared with lots of affection by the lady of the house and served in the family common room with a wood fire to give guests a traditional experience of food with culture. Guests can enjoy local Spitian cuisine and learn about the cooking techniques used by the family. The homestay also offers the opportunity to interact with the family and learn about their way of life in the trans-Himalayan region.
Guests can walk to Kaza Monastery & Chortens or walk up to Buddha statue to see Kaza village from a vantage point or just walk down to old Kaza market, interact with the local shopkeepers and visit our cafe Piti for freshly brewed coffee & Cake.
